Choose a layout before changing sensitivity
Open Settings → Controls. Try Legacy if you prefer traditional Gears inputs or Modern if you are more comfortable with modern shooter controls. Modern Alt puts Slide on B. Legacy-style layouts do not support Toggle Sprint.
After switching, use Combat Training to test sprinting, sliding and entering cover. Fix a layout mismatch before trying to compensate for it with sensitivity.
Tune three speeds separately
- Adjust Look until turning is fast enough for you.
- Adjust Target to reduce overshooting while aiming.
- Adjust Scope for controlled fine aiming through a scope.
Change one value at a time and repeat a familiar action. These are tuning directions; no tested numeric preset fits every controller and player.
Find the smallest reliable inner dead zone
If the view moves after you release the stick, increase the inner dead zone. If small movements do not respond, lower it gradually. Aim for the smallest usable range that does not drift.
Check reload and cover behavior
Try Manual Reload if you want direct control over active reload timing. Compare Slide to Cover on and off if you repeatedly stick to cover unintentionally.
Aim Assist descriptions have varied across Beta material and modes. Keep Default as a starting point and read the current in-game option description; do not assume a PvE lock-on option is available in Versus.
