Gears of War: E-Day

Gears of War: E-Day PC requirements

Quick answer

The final official table lists 115 GB on an SSD and requires a GPU with dedicated hardware ray tracing. Its Medium 1080p, High 1440p and Ultra 4K performance targets use upscaling; they are not native-resolution benchmark guarantees.

Official launch specification table

The output targets below use DLSS, FSR, TSR or XeSS. A resolution label is not a claim that the hardware renders every frame natively at that resolution.

Check hardware ray tracing first

The official image excludes GPUs without dedicated hardware ray-tracing support. Enough VRAM, or support for an upscaler, does not by itself make an older GPU compatible.

Then compare CPU, VRAM, RAM and SSD space individually. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, build 19045.7291 as the minimum and Windows 11 64-bit (25H2) or newer as recommended. Check your Windows build as well as the hardware.

Why this table says 115 GB

The official September 28 replacement launch image lists 115 GB, replacing the earlier 130 GB reporting. Its Ultra AMD entry is RX 9070 XT; a secondary report’s RX 7900 XT is not used here.

Updates may need extra working space. Follow the installer’s current requirement when installing.

What these targets do not guarantee

Matching the table is not a promise of a locked frame rate in every scene. Upscaling mode, other settings and background work affect results. No local hardware benchmark supports extrapolating these targets to laptop GPUs with similar names or to native 4K.

After installing, run the in-game Benchmark and use the PC settings guide to adjust one variable at a time.
