Gears of War: E-Day

Gears of War: E-Day Horde Siege guide

Quick answer

Choose a class, mission and suitable difficulty, finish your squad objectives, then extract on the Raven. At least one member of your own four-player squad must leave successfully to complete the mission and retain its Weapon Parts.

Pick a mission your squad can finish

Horde Siege supports up to 12 players, arranged in three squads of four. You act with your own squad, and each squad has its own objectives.

Mission type Main shape of the run
Blitz A shorter mission format
Siege A longer sequence with several objectives
Horde Defend the R.I.G. through 10 waves

Choose a difficulty suited to your class level. Estimated mission durations are planning ranges rather than fixed timers for every run.

Follow the active objective

Your instructions can involve clearing an occupied area, holding a calibration zone, retrieving repair parts or defending the R.I.G. Read the active objective rather than treating every playlist as a traditional wave defense.

Side objectives can supply parts and temporary benefits. Take them when the squad can manage the extra risk; exhausting your lives to chase a side reward can cost the extraction.

Revive and recover

When a teammate dies, recover their COG tags and take them to a Supply Cache to revive them. A full squad wipe consumes a Squad Life.

Extract with your own squad

After the main objective, clear the landing area, hold until the Raven arrives and board in time. At least one member of your squad needs to extract successfully.

Another squad leaving does not automatically complete your squad’s mission. Prioritize a reliable extraction if you want to keep Weapon Parts; a failed squad should not expect to retain the parts it found.
