Get mods in the right mode
| Mode | Acquisition and use |
|---|---|
| Campaign | Yellow Hard Cases and Secondary Objectives provide mods or extra slots; change the loadout at a Supply Cache |
| Horde Siege | Unlock the mod on the class track, then buy it with Weapon Parts retained through extraction |
| Versus | Weapon Mods are disabled |
Prototype Lancer choices
Full Metal Jacket is worth considering if you consistently hit Perfect Reloads. Its effect grants stronger Perfect Ammo on a Perfect Reload; it is not permanent bonus damage after any ordinary reload.
For a Campaign player firing from cover, consider Cover Brace. For moving fire, compare Mobile Stabilizer. Both are stock choices, so do not assume they combine into a single simultaneously equipped set.
Cover Brace and Huge Magazine are marked as Campaign items in the researched catalog. Do not present them as general Horde recommendations. Huge Magazine increases capacity but slows aiming and reloading; decide whether that trade fits your fights.
Two Campaign Hard Case examples
The chapter route used for these examples reports:
| Location in the route | Reported contents |
|---|---|
| Act 3, Chapter 1: first case at the shooting range | Prototype Lancer Huge Magazine; Gnasher Slick Breech |
| Act 3, Chapter 2: first case near the Damaged Gnasher | Longshot Tactical Scope; Lancer Mk1 Cut Magwell |
When you hear the nearby Hard Case cue, open Tac-Com to locate it. After collecting it, check the corresponding weapon and slot at a Supply Cache. “First case” is the source route’s numbering, not an in-game map ID.
Check the item’s full identity
Read the weapon, mod type and supported mode together. Conflicting scope multipliers and classification labels in other loadout lists are not a basis for a guaranteed compatible build. These are conditional choices and acquisition examples, rather than a tested highest-DPS setup or a complete mod catalog.
